First-degree murder charges have been filed against a Clovis man in connection with an April 13 shooting in Clovis.

Louis Guerra, 30, is also charged with two counts of aggravated assault with intent to commit a violent felony, shooting from a motor vehicle and tampering with evidence.

On May 20, Guerra’s attorney waived a scheduled grand jury presentation and charges were then filed by prosecuters, according to a press release from the district attorney’s office.

A case against Guerra’s girlfriend Desery Rodriguez, 30, was presented to the grand jury and she was indicted Friday. She is charged with tampering with evidence in connection with the shooting.

Daniel Perez, 26, suffered a gunshot wound to the head and died a week after the shooting.

Guerra’s attorney has said evidence will show he is innocent.
