An almost three-month search for a 34-year-old man accused of shooting at his girlfriend’s car while her child was in it ended Wednesday at a Clovis hotel.

Police said they arrested Narcizo Soto around 10 p.m. at the Econo Lodge on Mabry Drive.

He is being held without bond on a warrant from the U.S. Marshals, jail officials said.

Clovis Police Chief Steve Sanders said his office assisted the U.S. Marshals in the arrest, which he said took place without incident.

Soto is accused of the Feb. 26 shooting of a parked car belonging to the mother of his child.

The woman said she was standing outside her vehicle in the 400 block of Hickory Street and her 8-year-old child was in the passenger seat. She told police Soto pulled up beside her and fired two rounds into the driver’s side of her car and drove away, a report said.

The child was not injured.

Soto is charged with two counts of assault against a household member, shooting from or into a motor vehicle, abuse of a child, felon in possession of a firearm and other misdemeanor crimes associated with the incident, court records show.
