Monday morning briefing: Last chance, affordable housing and Dylan dismays

Good morning and welcome to the Freedom New Mexico Monday briefing.

Last chance

The Portales Public Library Summer Reading Program ends this week for both children and young adults.

An end-of-the-program party for all participants is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Library. The party includes prizes.

The final events of the programs, movies showings are set for Friday. “Apollo 13” for 12- to 18-year-olds is to show at 2 p.m., and “Arctic Tale” for younger children at 10:30 a.m.

Neighborhood meeting

The next in a series of city of Clovis neighborhood meetings on the affordable housing referendum is 6 p.m. today at Colonial Park Golf Course (District 1).

The special election on the issue is Aug. 2

Recreation building

The Youth Recreation Building (YRB) groundbreaking postponed last week is rescheduled.

It’s 10 a.m. Thursday at Hillcrest Park, Seventh and Sycamore.
