Reader-submitted content: Curry County Fair features “growing” theme

July 29, 2011

“We’ve Got A Good Thing Growing” is the selected theme for the 2011 Curry County Fair.

This will be the 91st year for the annual fair that continues to grow each year with new vendors, contests, concerts, events and much more.

Opening night of the fair will be Aug. 15 and continuing to run through Aug. 20. Each night of the fair will feature a “Themed Night” and will offer fair attendees special discounts and opportunities to assist those in need within our community.

While out at the fair, take some time and stroll around the livestock barns, visit the indoor exhibits, visit our vendors, and stop into see the daily entertainment acts and view there entertaining shows. And as always, there will be the many food vendors on site offering everything from corn dogs, cheese on a stick, Bar B Que, roasted corn, burritos and many more delicious food items.

Concerts will also be another highlight of the fair as Chente Berra is scheduled to play Thursday night, followed by the ever popular Friday Nite Live concert series and on Saturday night, Casey Donuhue will be performing at the Curry County Events Center.

For more information on the 91st annual Curry County Fair, please contact Curry County Event Center Event Manager Jan Riley at 935-7000.
