WASHINGTON — Communities around New Mexico, including Clovis, have been awarded grants through the U.S. Department of Justice aimed at reducing and preventing crime.
Grants totaled more than $350,000, according to a news release from U.S. Sen. Jeff Bingaman, D-N.M.
“Local governments are having a difficult time making ends meet,” Bingaman said.
“These federal grants are helping to ensure that New Mexico can continue to make crime prevention a top priority.”
Clovis received $29,514 to purchase communications and crime scene equipment, the release said.
