GOODWELL, Okla. — Senior outside hitter Kristen Beck just missed a double-double with nine kills and nine digs while adding six of Eastern New Mexico’s 10 aces on Saturday as the Zias swept past Oklahoma Panhandle State 25-15, 25-15, 25-18.

Other than the start of the second game, when they erased a trio of four-point deficits, the Zias (3-9) were in control throughout as they put an end to a four-match losing streak.

ENMU led all the way in the first and third sets except for one early tie in each game.

The Lady Aggies (3-9) jumped on top 4-0 and 8-4 in the second set. After the Zias tied it 8-8, OPSU went on a 4-0 run for a 12-8 lead as ENMU committed three errors.

The Zias responded with five consecutive points, capped by a block and an ace from Beck. After the Lady Aggies pulled even on a kill by Hanna Syling, the Zias took control with a 9-0 run that included four aces by Beck.

Junior outside hitter Amber Durand, who finished with eight kills, got one on match for the Zias.

Syling finished with nine kills for the Lady Aggies.

The Zias return to Lone Star Conference play at 7 p.m. Tuesday in their home opener against Cameron at Greyhound Arena.
