The Eastern New Mexico University men’s cross country team has moved up one notch to second place this week in the NCAA Division II South Central Region poll, while the women’s team made its first appearance in the rankings at No. 10.
The Greyhounds, orignally eighth in the university division of Saturday’s Cowboy Jamboree hosted by Oklahoma State but later dropped to ninth after a scoring correction by OSU, moved past East Central in the poll and now trail only Central Missouri in the rankings.
The Zias, who were fifth in the college division at Oklahoma State, became the third Lone Star Conference team in the rankings with No. 1 Midwestern State and No. 7 West Texas A&M, which also made its first appearance in the poll.
