Friday morning briefing: A new building, herding dogs and remembering Route 66

Good morning and welcome to the Freedom New Mexico Friday briefing.


They’re breaking ground today at Eastern New Mexico University for a new $15.6 million residence hall.

It’s at 1:30 p.m. at 17th and K streets in Portales, the former site of the now-demolished Lincoln Hall.

It’s open to the public.

Move ‘em out

The Tumbleweed Classic Dog Trial, featuring the best of the best herding dogs, is all day Saturday and Sunday at the Roosevelt County Fairground Arena.
