Good morning and welcome to the Freedom New Mexico Thursday briefing.

The annual CHS Wildcat Bands Noodles and Notes Dinner is 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church, 1501 Sycamore.

The band performs at 7 p.m. at Leon Williams Stadium.

Tickets are adults $5 and children $3 and are available from any band member or at the door.

Peanut change

Change is anticipated at this year’s annual Peanut Valley Festival on Saturday and Sunday at the Eastern New Mexico University campus in Portales.

ENMU senior Jennifer Neilson will have a booth dedicated to collecting pocket change for the country of Belize.

The change will be donated to The Word at Work, a nonprofit organization.

On this day in 1999, a Colorado grand jury investigating the case of child beauty queen JonBenet Ramsey, who was murdered in December 1996, is dismissed and the Boulder County district attorney announces no indictments will be made due to insufficient evidence.
