Wednesday morning briefing: Ready for the big chill?

Good morning and welcome to the Freedom New Mexico Wednesday briefing.

Button up Buttercup…or at least wear a jacket. It’s going to get cold quick today (see weather below).

Big brass

Eastern New Mexico University in Portales will host the Brass Choir Concert at 7 p.m. Thursday in Buchanan Hall of the Music Building.

It was originally scheduled for Nov. 15.

The event is free and open to the public.

The theme of the show is Hollywood; the choir will play music from various movies.

Fishing fun

The Oasis State Park 21st Annual Kids Fishin’ Clinic is 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Oasis State Park.

Kids ages 6-17 and their parents/adults, must pre-register.

Anyone 12 years and older must have a valid New Mexico fishing license.

The Entry fee for the event is two cans of food per child with proceeds going to the Food Bank of Eastern New Mexico.Information or to pre-register: 356-5331
