CANNON AIR FORCE BASE — Cannon Air Force Base, has started taking donations for this year’s Combined Federal Campaign, a program in which military members and federal government employees are able to pledge money to a list of charities. The campaign dates for Cannon are from Oct. 27 to Dec. 8.

According to the organization’s website, the CFC is the world’s largest and most successful annual workplace charity campaign throughout the country. Since its inception, the program has received more than $7 billion in donations from federal employees.

“Cannon raised $148,000 in the 2010 campaign,” said Capt. Stephen Emborski, 27th Special Operations Civil Engineer Squadron Explosives Ordnance Disposal Flight commander. “Our goal this year is $150,000, and we hope to blow it out of the water.”

Weekly donation totals will be posted at the gates and sent through base-wide emails.

To find a unit representative, contact Capt. Emborski by e-mail or call 575-784-2909. During duty days, donations can also be made during CFC office hours, 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., upstairs in Building 1.
