Cannon power outage scheduled

By Senior Airman Jette Carr: 27th SOW Public Affairs

To analyze repairs needed to upgrade the electrical power substation at Cannon Air Force Base, a base power outage is scheduled 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday to include Chavez Manor housing.

The Pecos Trail dining facility, Commissary, and Base Exchange will open for their regular business hours, but the golf course will be closed. During the power outage 911 services will operate normally.

Housing residents are encouraged to have flashlights, use coolers and ice chests to store food and have a day’s supply of water prepared. To prevent food from spoiling, keep refrigerators and freezers closed.

During the outage, traffic signals will also be out — drive cautiously and obey posted signs.

If your power is not back up by 4 p.m. check the 27th Special Operations Wing’s Facebook page or call 784-6909 for additional updates. Please note that the phone number for updates will not be activated with power outage information until the day of the scheduled outage.
