Of note: The game was a late addition to the schedule, and the teams agreed to meet on a neutral court. … The Hounds, who have won four in a row, are playing their fifth neutral-site game of the season. … ENMU leads the all-time series against the Cowboys 64-30. The teams haven’t played since early in the 2008-09 campaign, with Highlands winning 81-74 in the season opener at Las Vegas, N.M., and ENMU notching a 66-65 victory two weeks later at Greyhound Arena. The Cowboys went 20-8 that season after going 1-25 in 2007-08, the biggest turnaround in NCAA history. … Four players on NMHU’s roster hail from Las Vegas — three from Nevada, one from New Mexico. … Highlands’ top scorers through two games are 5-10 senior G Marcus Williams (15.0 ppg) and 6-2 senior G Ryan Gonzales (10.5). They’ve combined to go 10-of-22 from 3-point range, while the rest of the team is 5-for-30. … Four players are averaging in double figures for the Hounds, led by senior G Stefan Mirabal and senior F Aaron Edwards, both at 13.4 ppg. PGs Reggie Nelson and Devone Davis have combined for 41 assists and 24 turnovers through four games. … Highlands shot just under 40 percent in its first two outings, but held Midwestern State and Colorado College to a combined 38 percent.
