Company invests in Tres Amigas
Global trading, IT and infrastructure services company Mitsui and Co. has agreed to invest $12 million into the Tres Amigas power grid project that will be located east of Clovis.
The transmission hub will connect American’s three primary electricity grids — Eastern, Western and Texas — to allow better infrastructure for reliable renewable power.
The buildout of the $1.5 billion superstation is expected to occur in stages. Engineering design for Phase
I is well underway, with construction scheduled to commence in this year, and Phase I commercial operations scheduled for 2015.
