PORTALES — Eastern New Mexico University has released the names of 14 high school signees to national letters of intent for the 2012 football season on Wednesday’s national signing day.

First-year coach Josh Lynn said Wednesday night that he expects about eight more players to sign by the end of today.

“It went real good,” Lynn said. “A lot of guys are signing later, but we’ve gotten about all the kids we wanted.”

Lynn’s emphasis was in the offensive and defensive lines, and nine of the signees fit into that category, including six on offense.

ENMU also brought in five mid-year transfers from the junior college level, including three — tight end Evan Tooley, slot back Sonny Duran and outside linebacker Danny Jaramillo — from the New Mexico Military program which Lynn coached in 2011.

Among the players expected to be in the next wave of signees is defensive tackle Kenny Betts of Clovis, who recently gave a verbal commitment to the school.
