- What activities can you enjoy at this location: Pick a tour or explore on your own through the majestic underground caves of Carlsbad. It is recommended that people bring a light jacket and wear comfortable shoes with rubber soles for good traction.
- What ages is this place best suited for?: Ages four and up. Certain ranger-guided tours have age requirements.
- Admission prices: Self-guided tours have an entrance fee of $6 for adults and children 15 and under are free. Ranger-guided tours range from $7-$20 for adults and $3.50-$10 for children. There are some fee-free days year-round.
- Hours of operation: Sept. 6 to May 24, Last cavern entry via natural entrance 2 p.m.; via elevator: 3:30 p.m. Monday-Sunday. Visitor Center: 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Summer hours from May 25 to Sept. 3, Last cavern entry via natural entrance 3:30 p.m.; via elevator: 4 p.m. Monday-Sunday. Visitor Center: 8 a.m.-7 p.m.
