Wednesday’s games cleared things up quite a bit for next week’s Lone Star Conference tournament, particularly on the men’s side.
The only issues to be determined in Saturday’s finales are the Nos. 1 and 2 seeds, and the No. 8 seed.
In: Midwestern State, Tarleton State, West Texas A&M, Incarnate Word, Cameron, ENMU, Texas A&M-Kingsville.
Out: none.
Battle at the top: Midwestern State and Tarleton State at tied for first at 14-3. Midwestern, which owns the tiebreaker, earns the top seed if it beats Eastern New Mexico University at home or if Angelo State upsets the Texans on Tarleton’s home floor. Seeds 3-7 have been set.
At the bottom: Abilene Christian is in with a win at Tarleton State. If ACU loses, the Angelo-Commerce winner qualifies. Those three enter Saturday tied for eighth at 4-13.

Tarleton State, West Texas A&M, Midwestern State, Angelo State, Cameron
Out: Texas A&M-Commerce.
Set at the top: The top three seeds are set. Cameron gets the No. 4 seed over Angelo State with a win at home over WT or if Angelo loses at last-place Commerce.
Battle royale: Five teams are competing for seeds six through eight — Incarnate Word, Texas Woman’s and ENMU, all 8-11; idle Texas A&M-Kingsville (8-12), and Abilene Christian (7-12).

Texas Woman’s is sixth if it beats Incarnate Word at home. Incarnate Word finishes sixth with a win over Texas Woman’s and an ENMU loss at Midwestern State.

ENMU is in with a win at Midwestern State or an Abilene Christian loss. The Zias could be anywhere from sixth to eighth depending on the outcome of the other games, or they would be out with a loss and a win by Abilene Christian.
