Press release: 17-year-old dead, two injured in Clovis stabbing (Updated)

On Saturday, March 30, 2013, at approximately 12:19 AM, the Clovis Police Department responded to the 1300 blk of Reid of street on a report of a large disturbance/public affray. Upon the arrival of the patrol officers, itwas determined three men, ages seventeen, twenty-one and twenty-three, had been victims of a stabbing.

The seventeen year old male, identified as Devin Saiz, was transported to Plains Regional Medical Center in a private vehicle with a stab wound to his torso. Mr. Saiz later succumbed to his injury and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Jose Lopez, twenty-three years of age, and Havier Bara, twenty years of age, were also treated for stab wounds at Plains Regional Medical Center. Their wounds are non-life threatening.

The investigation is being conducted by the 9th Judicial District Major Crimes Unit (MCU) in conjunction with the Clovis Police Department.

At approximately 7:00 PM, Saturday, March 30, 2013, the MCU obtained an arrest warrant for Ricardo Sena, age 27, for an open count of Murder. The MCU also obtained an arrest warrant for a seventeen year old female, as a juvenile shall not be identified, for Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon.

The female juvenile and Mr. Sena have been taken into custody without incident. Mr. Sena has been booked into the Curry County Adult Detention Center with a bond of $500,000.00 cash only. The female juvenile is being held at the Curry County Juvenile Detention Center without bond. There are no booking photos available at this time.

The investigation is continuing as other charges may be filed at a later date.
