Clovis Municipal Schools is holding a community open house today at the newly built WD. Gattis Middle School to give parents, students, and community members an opportunity to preview the school before the official ribbon cutting ceremony on Aug. 15.

Fun facts
• The school will be fueled by geothermal energy, which is generated and stored in the earth.
• There is a large outdoor courtyard in the center of the school that will contain trees and covered picnic tables that students can use to eat lunch. The area will also be used for school assemblies.
• Nearly every classroom has window-to-ceiling windows to allow natural light in.
