• Last time out: Both teams defeated South Dakota School of Mines & Technology at home this week, WT winning 70-60 on Wednesday night and ENMU posting an 86-72 victory on Thursday.
• Last season: The teams split, each winning on the other’s court for the third year in a row as WT emerged victorious at Portales 69-65 and ENMU posted a 71-57 triumph at Canyon.
• Of note: The Buffaloes lead the all-time series 63-16, but since Andrew Helton became ENMU’s coach in 2009 the Greyhounds are 4-5, including 3-1 in Canyon. … Longtime WT coach Rick Cooper resigned his position on Dec. 5, seven games into the season. Cooper was 391-193 at WT and 543-240 as a head coach, including six seasons at Wayland Baptist. Assistant head coach Vinay Patel was promoted to interim head coach, and the Buffs are 5-6 under him. … Four players average in double figures for the Buffs, led by 5-foot-9 senior G Drimir Ferguson (15.1 ppg, 41 percent on 3-pointers, 30-of-73), who is second in the LSC in assists (5.7 apg). Meantime, 6-2 junior G Tez Dumars averages 12.6 ppg (40 percent on 3-pointers, 42-of-105) and 6-3 junior F Antjuan Ball (10.9 ppg) leads the LSC in rebounding (9.2 rpg). … ENMU had a season-high 24 assists on its 33 baskets against Mines as senior G Rafael Love set his career high and senior G Jordan Romero tied his with seven assists apiece.

• Last time out: Both teams last played on Saturday, ENMU losing at Tarleton State 89-71 while WT won at Texas A&M-Commerce 99-66.
• Last season: WT swept the Zias, winning 62-51 in Portales and 70-43 at Canyon.
• Of note: The Lady Buffs, ranked sixth in NCAA Division II, have won nine of the last 10 meetings against ENMU and lead the all-time series 59-10. … WT has won nine in a row since its only loss, a 78-64 decision on Dec. 15 at Emporia State. … The Lady Buffs have two of the LSC’s top five scorers in 5-10 senior F Devin Griffin (14.5 ppg, 6.2 rpg) and 5-11 junior F/C Chontiquah White (12.9 ppg). White also ranks in the top five in FG shooting (54 percent) and FT shooting (79 percent). … WT’s roster includes four seniors, four juniors, four sophomores and four freshmen. … The teams easily rank 1-2 in the LSC in FT shooting — WT 73.1 percent, ENMU 72.8 percent. … Mark Kellogg is in his first season at WT after eight years at Fort Lewis and one at Northwest Missouri State. In his last five seasons at Fort Lewis, Kellogg — a one-time men’s assistant to Cooper (1998-2000), led the Skyhawks to a 143-20 record and a Division II runnerup finish (2010). … Former WT coach Krista Gerlich is having a rough first season at Division I Texas-Arlington. Heading into a game at Georgia State today, the Lady Mavericks are 1-18 (0-8 Sun Belt Conference). Gerlich won four LSC South Division titles and three Lone Star Conference tournament championships in seven seasons at WT. … ENMU sophomore G Jordyn Cooper and junior PG Lakeeyscia Griffin rank third in the LSC in 3-pointers (31) and assists (4.1 apg), respectively. Junior F Tori Tucker, who leads the team in scoring (10.9 ppg), is fourth in the conference in rebounding (7.3 rpg).
