Police: More car windows hit with pellet rifles

Staff report

At least 11 more car windows were hit with what police officers believe to be pellet rifles on Friday.

Clovis Police Chief Steve Sanders said the most recent string of criminal damage reports were likely related to the 50 incidents that began last month, noting consistent damage to the vehicles.

Sanders said in a couple of cases neighbors provided videos, but they were too far off to identify anyone.

“We don’t have anything to work with,” Sanders said. “Somebody out there knows something, they just haven’t come forward.”

A representative from Curry County Crime Stoppers said if an anonymous tip leads to an arrest the caller will become eligible for up to a $1,000 reward.

The representative said callers should provide any information they can, but “more is better for the officers.”

To make an anonymous tip, call the Curry County Crime Stoppers hotline at 575-763-7000.
