Police: Clovis man slain in Farwell

FARWELL — A Clovis man was shot to death Friday at the Tuls Cattle Co. near Farwell and a murder warrant has been issued for a co-worker.

Franscio Javier Moreno Gutierrez, 38, of Clovis remained at large on Saturday. He’s wanted in connection with the slaying of Jesus Rogelio Morales, 23, of Clovis.

Parmer County Sheriff Randy Geries said officials received a 911 call about a shooting at 1:30 p.m. Friday. On arrival, officers found Morales dead from multiple gunshot wounds.

Geries said in a news release that Gutierrez, also known as Javier Moreno, fled the scene in a black 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier. The suspect  was armed with a handgun, according to the release.

Both men worked at the Tuls Cattle Co., which is four miles east of Farwell.

An autopsy has been ordered.
