It’s rodeo time …
The 45th running of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association Rodeo is set for Thursday through Saturday at the Curry County Events Center, with the show set to kick off each night at 7:30.
The theme for Thursday is military night with red, white and blue clothing, while Saturday is “Tough Enough to Wear Pink” for breast-cancer awareness.
StateLine Band plays a post-rodeo concert Friday and Saturday, with tickets $10 each. There’s a $5 discount if you have a ticket for the rodeo.

Care for a drink …
It’s been more than an average May as far as precipitation goes, with 10.56 inches of rain for the Clovis area as of Saturday afternoon. With today to go, the area would need 1.32 inches to eclipse May 1941 (11.87 inches) for the wettest on record, according to weather observers.

Oasis concert …
No, it’s not the late-’90s British band. Oasis State Park will hold its 10th annual Old Tyme Music Concert 7 p.m.-9 p.m. Saturday, featuring Portales’ Triple L Band. Concertgoers are advised to bring their own seating, and $5 to cover the entrance fee if they don’t hold a permit. To find out more, call the park at 575-356-5331.
