Sabinoso wilderness legislation now headed to president’s desk

Legislation to designate more than 16,000 acres in San Miguel County as wilderness is now headed to President Obama to sign into law. The public lands package, including the Sabinoso Wilderness Act, passed the House today by a vote of 285 – 140.

By a vote of 77-20, the U.S. Senate today passed legislation to designate more than 17,000 acres in San Miguel County as wilderness.
